About RUBICONCRETE
We focus on technologies that can pair the advantages of recycled material in order to make lumber replacements. We believe that many composites can be developed that utilize the unique properties of recycled materials, such as crumb rubber, to develop environmentally friendly alternatives to lumber that are longer lasting, thereby providing economic benefit.
We are working toward an eventual goal of increasing the value of recycled materials until they become economical to recycle, much like metals are currently recycled.
We are a startup through the University of South Florida focused on the development of nailable concretes as a replacement for treated lumber. This includes fencing (our current focus), decking, outdoor structures, etc.

What is Nailed-It Concrete?
RUBICONCRETE's Nailed-It Concrete is a unique mixture of cement, crumb rubber, and aggregate that allows for the concrete to be installed by nailing or screwing it together. This resulting concrete is more flexible than traditional concrete, but it results in an easy to install section that can last longer, especially in wet environments. Theoretically, treated wood lasts a long time, however, most customers will replace treated wood in humid regions in 10-15 years. Our Nailed-It Concrete is reinforced with galvanized steel and will last 50-100 years.
